Around Nov 2019, I have reached out to you all on Containers Adoption & Use Cases survey to evaluate how enterprises are currently using containers and what challenges, benefits they are experiencing. There were about 700+ responses, Thank you! everyone, who has participated, and here are the key takeaways from the survey results.

Container volumes are definitely growing. 29% of enterprises have containers over 100 deployed, and 17% have more than 15 – 50 containers deployed.
Adoption is cross-platform, with respondents claiming container usage across private (52%), hybrid cloud (23%), public (17%), and traditional on-premises infrastructure (5%)
We could see the container adoption has increased and more and more apps are moving to Production, with respondents stating that they are already in Production(41%), Cloud Native applications (30%) and it also facilitates Digital Transformation initiatives, Mobility Applications (11% each).
With the advent of containers/ container orchestration tools, Microservices adoption has increased (70%)
Security of the containers remains key concern & other concerns are related to Data Management and Costs.
Microservices and containers are going hand in hand, about 35% of organizations are using containers and 23% have said it is one of the key components in DevOps strategy.
Containers offer portability and agility in moving applications from your internal data center, and out to different cloud providers.
