4 ways to link Aadhaar with PAN

Now that timeline has been extended till Dec 31st & if you’ve haven’t done it yet, here we look at 4 ways to link your Aadhaar with PAN.

#1. Link Aadhaar without Login

Step#1 : Navigate to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ 

Step #2 : On the Link Aadhaar page,enter your PAN,Aadhaar details,Name as per Aadhaar & check the box if you’ve only year of birth in Aadhaar card.Once you’ve entered required details,click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.

Step #3 : That’s it you’re done,your Aadhaar has been linked.

#2. Link Aadhaar post Login

Step#1 : Navigate to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ 

Step #2,Login to the portal

Step #3: Under profile settings,choose ‘Link Aadhaar’ option 

Step #4 : On the Link Aadhaar page,enter your PAN,Aadhaar details,Name as per Aadhaar & check the box if you’ve only year of birth in Aadhaar card.Once you’ve entered required details,click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.

Step #5,That’s it you’re done,your Aadhaar has been linked.

#3. Link Aadhaar by SMS

This is one of the simplest options,you have to send SMS to 567678 or 56161 in the following format.

UIDPAN<Space><12 digit Aadhaar No.><Space><10 Digit PAN No.>

Example:  SMS to 567678 or 56161 as below.

UIDPAN 111111222233 AAAPA9999Q

#4.Through PAN service centre with prescribed form

Submit the below form to the designated PAN Service Centers.

1. Fill the above form and you must personally visit for link Aadhaar with PAN Card.You must visit centre with Original PAN Card and Aadhaar Card.
2. What I understand is, it is not FREE service. Such designated PAN Service Centers will charge you some nominal charges.Check for PAN designated service centre at https://www.tin-nsdl.com/pan-center.html
3. You may have to do Biometric authentication while link Aadhaar with PAN Card.
4. Form can be downloaded from link (see Annexure #1)

Additional details

• If you want to correct PAN details,please check TIN website link & follow instructions.
• If you want to update Aadhaar details,navigate to Aadhaar update portal , also note Mobile number is mandatory to receive password for login.
